Our apprenticeship program

There’s never been a better time to be in energy, or a better time to be at Endeavour Energy.

More than 2.7 million people across New South Wales rely on us to supply safe and reliable power to their homes and businesses every day.

We employ more than 1,700 people, making us one of Greater Western Sydney’s largest employers. We need talented people who care about one another and the work we do. Why? Because we’re one of Australia's fastest growing energy networks, connecting 20,000 new customers each year, including the Western Sydney Aerotropolis. When we Power Together, we go further, faster -towards a smarter, more sustainable future for us all.

Our people are at the heart of everything we do. We know that fostering a diverse, inclusive, and flexible workforce is the key to providing an affordable, safe, reliable, and sustainable service for our customers and the communities we serve, now and in the future.

In 2024, we’re excited to be offering Electrical and Motor Mechanic apprenticeships.

When working underground, you will install, repair, and maintain underground cabling infrastructure. When working at heights, you will install and maintain overhead electrical equipment. You will also construct and maintain substations and switchgear, diagnosing and rectifying faults. With the transformation to a modern grid, there are opportunities to be involved in commissioning new smart energy and automation technology to integrate distributed energy sources.

Our program

Our four-year apprenticeships combine TAFE study and on-the-job practical experience.

The Endeavour Energy apprentice program provides the highest quality development and specialised industry training, payment of all educational fees and expenses along with paid leave to attend TAFE. All tools and equipment are supplied.

You'll join our safe, supportive, and inclusive workforce where your wellbeing is prioritised.

Applicant requirements

Applicants need to have completed Year 10 and/or be over 17 years to apply for a full-time apprenticeship.

We're looking for candidates who enjoy problem-solving and have an interest in practical and technical activities.

Most importantly, we want team players who enjoy a challenge, are passionate about supporting the community and have a genuine interest in the trade they are applying for.

Benefits of working here

Our apprenticeships are hands-on jobs where you benefit from putting the theory you are learning into practice in real-time.

We're helping to lead the energy transition, working together to power communities for a brighter and more sustainable future. As one of the fastest growing networks in Australia, there are endless exciting opportunities for you to grow and develop.

Excellent working conditions include highly competitive pay, 16.5% superannuation and a fortnightly Rostered Day Off (RDO) to support work-life balance.

Inclusion and diversity

We want Endeavour Energy to reflect the diversity of the communities we serve. We strive to foster an inclusive, flexible, and supportive workplace where our people feel respected and supported to grow.

We aim for gender balance in our Apprentice and Graduate intakes. Watch this video to hear about why some of our female employees love working at Endeavour.

We’re also committed to growing our representation of Aboriginal and Torrest Strait Islander employees and creating career pathways through our Apprentice program. We’re partnering with TAFE NSW to sponsor the Empower Electrical Apprenticeship Readiness program for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

Career opportunities

Many of our apprentices go on to further employment opportunities at Endeavour. Beyond the trade, some choose to become technical specialists, while others opt for further study and development to move into leadership and engineering positions.
