Our role in your energy costs
Our network tariffs make up about 25% of the average residential or small business electricity bill. See how the costs to supply electricity to your home or business, contribute to your electricity bill.
Network tariffs
Network tariffs cover the costs of building, operating, maintaining, and upgrading the electricity distribution network, ensuring homes and businesses receive safe, reliable, and resilient power.
Endeavour Energy charges network tariffs to energy retailers, who bundle these costs with other charges across the energy supply chain into customer pricing plans.
Revenue from network tariffs is essential for maintaining electricity supply to over 2.7 million people within the Endeavour Energy network. This investment supports economic growth, job creation, community safety, and sustainability, ensuring the network remains efficient and adaptable to evolving energy needs—now and into the future.
Network tariffs are regulated
We work closely with customers and stakeholders to shape our future investments, expenditure, and service levels, ensuring they align with how electricity is used today and evolving needs for the future. Our plans strike a balance between affordability and service quality, delivering efficient, value-for-money investments that support customers’ long-term interests.
The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) reviews these plans, assessing their efficiency and sets a capped revenue allowance for a five-year regulatory period.
The AER has largely accepted our proposal for the current regulatory period 2024-2029, determining that our plans balance affordability and service outcomes, demonstrating efficient, future-focused investments that address customers' long-term needs.
