Endeavour Energy is thrilled to launch its inaugural Powering Communities grants program to support community groups to deliver important grass roots initiatives across the Endeavour Energy network.

Endeavour Energy’s Chief Customer and Strategy Officer, Leanne Pickering said the Powering Communities grants program has been developed in response to feedback received from the community.

“As the electricity network that supplies power to over 2.7 million people living and working in Sydney’s Greater West, the Blue Mountains, Southern Highlands, Illawarra and South Coast of NSW, our customers rely on us to support their daily lives and livelihoods.

“Over the past few years, we've been engaging with our customers and communities, to understand how we can better support their needs.

“We’ve listened to their feedback and are responding with our Powering Communities grants program, which will see us power together with local residents and community groups to invest in grass roots initiatives that deliver positive and sustainable outcomes to help our communities thrive.

“These initiatives could include programs that help communities plan for weather events, provide access to education or wellness programs, deliver important environmental or sustainability outcomes or support social inclusion,” said Ms Pickering.

“We are encouraging groups within the community with a valuable initiative to apply,” she said.

Powering Communities offer one-off grants of $2,000 to $10,000 to community groups such as not-for-profit organisations, registered charities and schools across four categories:

  • Education: Creating learning and development opportunities
  • Health & wellbeing: Programs that support the health and wellbeing of our community
  • Environment: Programs that help the community to participate in renewable energy and reduce their carbon footprint, programs that restore areas after a flood, fire or storm or help communities plan for a weather event
  • Social inclusion: Programs that support inclusiveness, equity and diversity or increase energy literacy amongst the community.

Applications are open until Sunday 21 May 2023. For more information on the program and to apply visit www.endeavourenergy.com.au/grants.
