Endeavour Energy is calling on community groups, charities, not-for-profit organisations and schools to apply for a grant through Endeavour Energy’s Powering Communities grants program before applications close Sunday 21 May 2023.

Endeavour Energy’s Chief Customer and Strategy Officer, Leanne Pickering said the Powering Communities grants program will help community groups deliver important local initiatives across the Endeavour Energy network.

“Our new Powering Communities grants program will see us power together with our community to support grass roots initiatives that deliver positive and sustainable outcomes to help our communities thrive.

“Through the program we are offering one-off grants to support initiatives that benefit the health and wellbeing of our community, create community learning opportunities, improve the local environment or support inclusiveness and diversity within our community.

“As the electricity network that supplies power to over 2.7 million people living and working in Sydney’s Greater West, the Blue Mountains, Southern Highlands, Illawarra and the South Coast of NSW, our customers rely on us to support their daily lives and livelihoods. Our Powering Communities grants program will help us further support our communities by delivering programs that are important to our communities.

“It has been wonderful to see applications come through from community groups who have been impacted by floods or fires and are looking at local ways to make their communities more resilient as well as schools and community groups proposing ways to be more inclusive or reduce their impact on the environment,” said Ms Pickering.

Powering Communities offers one-off grants of $2,000 to $10,000 to community groups such as not-for-profit organisations, registered charities and schools across four categories:

  • Education: Creating learning and development opportunities.
  • Health & wellbeing: Programs that support the health and wellbeing of our community
  • Environment: Programs that help the community to participate in renewable energy and reduce their carbon footprint, programs that restore areas after a flood, fire or storm or help communities plan for a weather event.
  • Social inclusion: Programs that support inclusiveness, equity and diversity or increase energy literacy amongst the community.

Applications are open until 11.59pm Sunday 21 May 2023. For more information on the program and to apply click here.
