$61,222 for Variety – the Children’s Charity at Western Sydney’s first Spin 4 Kids fundraising event

In a gruelling 5-hour stationary bike challenge, 13 teams sweated it out for the highly sought after title of Kings and Queens of Spin, with Walker taking out the title cycling a whopping 270 KMs and the Endeavour Energy team claiming the title for highest fundraiser.

The competition was fierce amongst teams from Endeavour Energy, Walker, Universal Fitness Group, Built, Deloitte Western Sydney, Hays, FDC Fitout & Refurbishment, KPMG, One51 Consulting, Salesforce Western Sydney Women and West Recruitment Consulting with the ultimate goal of the day to raise money for kids who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with a disability through Variety – the Children’s Charity.

Huge congratulations to the winners of the day:

  • Best dressed: Western Sydney Women
  • Spirit of Spin: Emily Chuah from Walker
  • Highest Fundraising team: Endeavour Energy #2 with $15,716, just beating Endeavour Energy #1 who raised $15,402
  • Highest Fundraising Individual: Alex Denby with $7,397.50
  • Kings and Queens of Spin: Walker 270kms

“Western Sydney has some of the best organisations in Australia, we have some of the most passionate people in Australia, and three weeks before Christmas all of these businesses passionately embraced the caused, and showed up for the challenge,” said Endeavour Energy, Chief Data, People and Sustainability Officer, Melissa Irwin.

“As the electricity network that has been powering Western Sydney for over 130 years, our customers and community rely on us to support their daily lives and livelihoods. By hosting Variety Spin for Kids we are able to further support our community by bringing the business community together to raise much needed money for kids in need,” said Ms Irwin.

“Variety delivers support to kids who are sick, experiencing disadvantage or living with disability – but our vital work depends on the generosity of our donors and fundraisers. On behalf of all of the families and kids we support, we thank everyone involved in Western Sydney’s first Spin for Kids event – your valuable contribution will help fund truly life-changing grants, programs and activities for kids who need it most,’ said Variety NSW/ACT CEO, Tony Warner.
