Storm & flood update 8 April 2024 5pm

We’d like to say a big thank you to our customers, and everyone involved in the safe restoration of power to our communities after Friday night’s torrential rain and damaging winds.

We appreciate you sharing our safety messages throughout the recovery and for the support shown as we’ve completed essential repairs to recover network network.

We’re incredibly proud of our teams who’ve worked incredibly hard under difficult conditions and, as always, pulled together with emergency services and other recovery agencies during this major event to support our communities.

At its peak, this ferocious storm caused significant damage across a broad area with localised flooding, landslides, fallen power poles and trees bringing down power lines, interrupting power to over 14,000 homes and businesses.

Almost all the customers interrupted by the storm damage and subsequent flooding have now been restored.

The remaining 300 flood affected properties will be progressively restored as flooding eases and access becomes available over the next few days.
