Power Outage Update – Crews Responding
Today’s strong winds have caused power outages across several areas, and we now have new impacts that require full safety patrols before restoration.
Affected areas include:
- Doonside
- Springwood
- South Windsor
- Kurrajong
- Emu Plains
- Cawdor
- Quakers Hill
- Glossodia
- Glenorie
Our crews are actively patrolling these locations and working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. With winds predicted to continue over the course of the afternoon we will keep you updated as conditions change.
Thank you for your patience and understanding while we complete these vital safety checks and work as quickly and safely as we can to restore power.
Customer safety
- Treat all powerlines as 'live' and dangerous by keeping at least 8m clear of them. Never drive across fallen powerlines
- Avoid all contact with wires that are hanging low, or on the ground or tangled in trees
- If using portable generators, please ensure they are located outside of your home and well away from open windows to avoid deadly exhaust fumes entering your home
- Generators should never be connected to switchboards unless there is an isolation switch installed by a licensed electrician. This is to avoid sending electricity back up powerlines and making isolated parts of the network dangerous for workers and the broader community.
