Endeavour Energy storm and flood update - 8 March 2022 - 7:30pm

Rising floodwaters and storm damage from the ongoing extreme weather conditions has interrupted power to over 6,400 homes and businesses across the Endeavour Energy network tonight.

Endeavour Energy is prepared and has crews on standby to keep customers safe and restore power where possible.

Storms

Damaging winds across the Shoalhaven, Southern Highlands and Illawarra regions late this afternoon has caused waterlogged trees to topple over powerlines, interrupting power to 4,500 homes and businesses.

Further customer outages winds are expected in these areas as these damaging persist throughout tonight and into tomorrow.

Flooding

Along the Hawkesbury, Nepean, Colo and Macdonald Rivers, rising floodwaters throughout the day has required power supply to be isolated to 1,700 customers for safety reasons.

A further 300 customers will be isolated tonight for flood safety, predominantly in McGraths Hill, where peak flood levels on the Hawkesbury River at Windsor have exceeded those seen in March 2021.
