Endeavour Energy Flood Update 28 March 2021 – 3:00PM

The electricity network supplying most customers will be restored today except for 80 properties still inundated with flood water. The following areas will be attended to tomorrow when access is available:

  • Corwallis (Cornwallis Road)
  • Freemans Reach (Gorricks Lane)
  • Pitt Town Bottoms (Pitt Town Bottoms Road)
  • Richmond Lowlands (Bensons Lane)
  • Sackville (Tizzana Road).

To keep customers and the community safe, Endeavour Energy is completing free safety inspections of the electrical switchboards of properties impacted by flood water. Based on what has been seen to date, we expect up to 400 properties must be disconnected from the network until further safety checks are completed.

These property owners are being given an inspection report from Endeavour Energy on the necessary steps they must take to have power restored, including the contact details of accredited private electrical contractors working in their areas to complete this work.

These private electrical contractors will receive a $350 reimbursement from Endeavour Energy to safely complete power restoration after this flood.

Until their properties are thoroughly dry and have been checked by a licensed electrician, customers returning after a flood must not:

  • use any electrical appliances which were flooded
  • handle any wet electrical equipment
  • replace circuit fuses or switch power on to wiring or equipment which has been flooded.

Endeavour Energy would like to thank customers for their ongoing patience. Estimates of when power will be restored to individual properties are at www.endeavourenergy.com.au/powerupdates or by calling 131 003.
