Community Battery safety

Endeavour Energy has a highly skilled team of qualified electricians and tradespeople to support our community battery program.

Our field force comprises qualified electricians and tradespeople who have completed a nationally recognised four-year apprenticeship in Distribution Powerline. This program is developed in collaboration with regulators, training providers, unions, and industry. Our people are qualified, authorised and skilled to work on the assets connected to the Endeavour Energy network, including conducting safety checks on community batteries.

The safety of our communities and workers is our highest priority. All community batteries undergo rigorous safety assessments by our internal engineering team, consistent with the standards applied to any asset on our network. Regular operational and safety checks are carried out by our authorised and experienced tradespeople.

Community batteries are connected to Endeavour Energy’s network, not directly to individual homes. Customers access the benefits by signing up to plans offered by our retail partners, Origin and Energy Australia. This makes the program accessible to a wide range of households, including renters, apartment dwellers, and those without solar.
