Community groups, schools and not-for-profit organisations across the Endeavour Energy network area are invited to apply for funding through Endeavour Energy’s Powering Communities Grants Program, with applications now open.

Now in its third round of applications, the program offers one-off grants ranging from $2,000 to $15,000 to support grassroots initiatives that deliver meaningful outcomes for local communities.

As the electricity distribution provider powering communities from Central NSW to the Blue Mountains, Greater Western Sydney, the Southern Highlands, Illawarra and the South Coast, Endeavour Energy delivers essential services to more than 2.8 million people across one of Australia’s fastest-growing regions.

The Powering Communities Grants Program builds on this role by supporting community-led projects that deliver tangible benefits and help communities thrive by, investing in initiatives that strengthen resilience, improve the local environment, develop STEM education and create stronger social connections.

Endeavour Energy’s Chief Customer and Strategy Officer, Leanne Pickering, said the program reflects the organisation’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the communities it serves.

“We play a critical role in the lives of the 2.8 million people who live and work in our network area. While providing safe, reliable, resilient and affordable power to our customers is at the core of what we do, we recognise that having a positive impact on the communities we serve is just as important.”

“The Powering Communities Grants Program enables us to work alongside our communities to support grassroots initiatives that strengthen community resilience, improve wellbeing and deliver lasting benefits across our region,” said Ms Pickering.

Since launch, the program has delivered 32 community-led projects with tangible impact - from powering community halls with solar and batteries, to supporting STEM education in schools, building resilience hubs for emergencies and providing critical food support for local families.

The 2026 grants program will fund projects across four key categories:

  • STEM and Education: Programs that support STEM learning and create education and development opportunities, including the provision of school resources and improved access to education.
  • Community resilience: Programs that strengthen communities’ ability to prepare for, withstand and recover from extreme weather events, while supporting overall health and wellbeing.
  • Environmental leadership: Programs that enable participation in renewable energy, reduce carbon emissions and support environmental conservation or restoration initiatives.
  • Social inclusion: Programs that promote inclusiveness, equity and diversity, improve energy literacy and support vulnerable communities, including those experiencing cost-of-living pressures. Programs that help new communities grow, connect and thrive.

Ms Pickering said the strong response to previous rounds demonstrates the importance of continued investment in local initiatives.

“We’ve seen first-hand the real and lasting impact these grants deliver across our communities,” she said. “From upgrading flood‑resilient facilities at Richmond Riding for the Disabled, to expanding STEM learning for students at Autism Spectrum Australia, restoring critical saltmarsh ecosystems in the Illawarra, and helping the Hazelbrook‑Lawson Girl Guides install solar and battery storage - these projects are making a meaningful difference where it matters most.”

“As we enter the third iteration of the program, we are excited to partner with even more community groups to bring important local initiatives to life.”
