Endeavour Energy Supports Communities Building Safer Futures
Endeavour Energy hosted more than 500 industry professionals at its Technical Training Centre in Prestons this week, for an Industry Safety Day, highlighting the latest safety practices and equipment as part of Safe Work Australia’s National Safe Work Month.
Electricians, powerline workers, engineers and other industry professionals travelled from across Australia and New Zealand to take part in the free industry collaborative event to further their knowledge of safer work practices.
The safety day also saw local businesses from surrounding areas including Liverpool, Blacktown, Prestons, and Penrith taking part, with a total of 90 suppliers demonstrating products aimed at making energy workplaces safer.
It is the second year Endeavour Energy has hosted the Industry Safety Day, where attendees heard from regulators and industry stakeholders on how they could work together to improve safety in the NSW energy sector. Participants had hands-on experience with the latest technologies, tools, plant and equipment, training and services that help improve the safety and wellbeing of workers and the broader community.
The day also extended to sessions on the importance of health and wellness in the workplace.
Dave Campbell, Endeavour Energy’s General Manager of Safety and Operations said: “Safety underpins everything we do at Endeavour Energy, not only for our own people, but for the communities we serve and everyone working across the energy industry.
“The strong turnout at today’s event reflects a shared commitment to continually raising safety standards throughout the NSW electricity supply sector. With ongoing advances in technology and best practice, this was a valuable opportunity for colleagues to explore the latest innovations and share their own experiences in creating safer workplaces,” said Mr Campbell.
