SOUTH COAST WIND STORM – Thursday 26 June 6am

Endeavour Energy emergency crews worked late into the night to restore electricity to all but 1270 customers affected by yesterday’s wild winds that battered the Illawarra,  South Coast and parts of the Southern Highlands.

Fresh crews are arriving from Western Sydney this morning to support their South Coast colleagues to help inspect, make safe and then repair around 295 reported electrical hazards and complete the more complex jobs.

This repair effort is focused on the South Coast and will concentrate on the suburbs of Berry, Nowra, Bomaderry, Culburra Beach, Broughton, Sussex Inlet, Kiama and Jaspers Brush.

Once again, we’ve cancelled all our planned maintenance so we can focus our efforts on the repair work.

Now that the weather has improved, we are hoping to safely restore everyone by the end of the day.

We would especially like to thank customers for their patience and understanding.

A big shout out to our customers for their support for our crews while they worked in awful conditions to get supply safely back to more than 20,000 customers after 24 hours of ferocious winds.
