Endeavour Energy crews have continued make safe and repair works across the network this afternoon and will continue working into the night. We expect to restore power to approximately 90 per cent of customers impacted by Saturday's damaging gale-force winds by 10pm tonight.

Despite significant progress, the storm caused extensive and widespread damage across the network, with crews responding to fallen trees, damaged powerlines and broken poles. There are currently 356 individual faults and network issues still requiring repair works.

As of this afternoon, approximately 3,000 customers are expected to remain without power overnight, primarily in Penrith, Parramatta, Macarthur, Liverpool, The Hills, Hawkesbury, Blacktown, Wollongong, Shoalhaven, which were among the hardest-hit areas following Saturday's damaging gale-force winds. Customers expected to remain without power overnight will receive an SMS update where Endeavour Energy holds a current mobile contact number. Details will also be available through the Endeavour Energy outage map.

Additional crews, including fresh Endeavour Energy crews and support from Evoenergy, will be deployed tomorrow. Endeavour Energy will mobilising all available resources, including its apprentice cohort, to accelerate restoration efforts and restore power to remaining customers as quickly and safely as possible.

We acknowledge the ongoing impact on our customers and thank them for their patience and understanding as crews continue this significant recovery effort. The severity and complexity of the damage have required extensive make safe works before repairs can begin, with crews working as quickly as conditions allow to safely restore power.

Customer safety

  • Treat all powerlines as 'live' and dangerous by keeping at least 8m clear of them. Never drive across fallen powerlines
  • Avoid all contact with wires that are hanging low, or on the ground or tangled in trees
  • If using portable generators, please ensure they are located outside of your home and well away from open windows to avoid deadly exhaust fumes entering your home
  • Generators should never be connected to switchboards unless there is an isolation switch installed by a licensed electrician. This is to avoid sending electricity back up powerlines and making isolated parts of the network dangerous for workers and the broader community.
