Endeavour Energy crews remain deployed in large numbers, with all available resources focused on restoring power to the remaining 2,103 customers as quickly and safely as possible.
Thanks to the extraordinary efforts of our crews, including many who gave up time with their families on Father's Day to support the recovery effort, power has already been restored to around 60,000 customers since Saturday afternoon's damaging gale-force winds. Their commitment to our customers and willingness to answer the call has been instrumental in the speed of restoration following this significant event.
The severe weather caused significant damage across the network, including fallen trees, damaged powerlines and broken power poles. There are currently 296 open incidents remaining, including more than 180 outages affecting a single customer premises. The most heavily impacted areas remain Mt Tomah, Bilpin and Upper Colo, with significant damage concentrated along Bells Line of Road and in the Bilpin area, where crews continue repair works.
As crews continue to assess affected areas, additional faults are being identified. The extent of the damage means repairs are often more complex than initially anticipated, requiring crews to first make sites safe before restoration work can begin.
Customers who are still without power and would like an update on their outage are encouraged to call 131 003 or visit the Endeavour Energy Outage Map at Endeavour Energy Outage Map for the latest information on restoration progress and estimated restoration times.
We thank our customers and communities for their patience and understanding as this significant recovery effort continues.
Safety remains our highest priority. Customers are reminded to stay at least eight metres away from any fallen or damaged powerline, treat all powerlines as live and dangerous, and report them immediately by calling 131 003. In a life-threatening emergency, call 000.
Customer safety
- Treat all powerlines as 'live' and dangerous by keeping at least 8m clear of them. Never drive across fallen powerlines
- Avoid all contact with wires that are hanging low, or on the ground or tangled in trees
- If using portable generators, please ensure they are located outside of your home and well away from open windows to avoid deadly exhaust fumes entering your home
- Generators should never be connected to switchboards unless there is an isolation switch installed by a licensed electrician. This is to avoid sending electricity back up powerlines and making isolated parts of the network dangerous for workers and the broader community.
