Household electricity consumption

Average household electricity consumption across local government areas within Endeavour Energy’s network can be accessed via the attached link.

Electricity use can vary significantly between different areas due to a range of factors including differences in climate, the availability of natural gas, the type of housing and demographics.

As variations in weather from year to year can make a significant difference to household energy use, the data has been presented on a three year rolling average basis.

Further information about trends in residential energy use can be obtained from the NSW Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal 2010 Household Survey of 2,192 households across Sydney, the Blue Mountains and the Illawarra.

The Survey explores the relationship between water, electricity and gas consumption and a range of socio-economic, demographic and behavioural characteristics and can be accessed at IPART 2010 Household Survey.
