How do I get a solar power system connected to the electricity network?

Once you have accepted a quote to purchase a solar power system, a solar installer accredited by the Clean Energy Council is required to design and install the system.

 

The Clean Energy Council has a list of approved solar installers on their website at www.cleanenergycouncil.org.au or you can call (03) 9929 4100.  Endeavour Energy does not make recommendations on who should install your solar power system.

 

Your solar installer should also:

• submit your connection application to your network provider
• arrange for an electrician qualified to work on the electricity network (known as an Accredited Service Provider) to install the meter which will measure the electricity exported to the network

 

Once the metering is installed, the electricity exported to the network starts to be measured and recorded.  Your electricity retailer can advise you about their arrangements for crediting your account for any solar electricity generated.
