PeakSaver Program

Earn cash while you save energy

As a socially responsible business, Endeavour Energy works with local communities to develop programs that help our customers use electricity more effectively and efficiently.

One of the major challenges we face is meeting the ‘peak demand’ for electricity on particularly hot afternoons, when a large number of Western Sydney households and businesses use high energy appliances such as air conditioners at the same time.

Why is peak demand an issue for Endeavour Energy and the community?

Peak demand occurs on just a few days a year, meaning the extra infrastructure required to meet it remains
un-used the rest of the time. So we believe that rather than building and maintaining the electricity network to accommodate infrequent peak demand, a more sustainable approach is to seek ways to reduce demand during peak periods.

Endeavour Energy has developed a number of programs designed to support this approach, reducing our environmental impact and making better use of public resources. One of these programs is called PeakSaver.

What is the PeakSaver program?

PeakSaver is a new program that gives you the option to voluntarily reduce your energy consumption during peak periods. This will save you money, and we’ll pay you for your effort!

How does PeakSaver work?

Endeavour Energy will select 'Event' days during the summer period from 1 November to 31 March (excluding weekends and public holidays) when we expect a series of very hot days.  Between peak times on these days (please refer to the FAQ for further information on peak times), you will be encouraged to reduce the amount of electricity you use by doing simple things like turning off unnecessary lights and appliances or delaying tasks such as clothes washing and dishwashing until later.  We will give you prior notification via your preferred method of communication such as SMS, email or recorded voice message.

Endeavour Energy will reward you with $1.50 per kWh of energy saved below your calculated baseline (which is determined by your energy consumption patterns), giving you the potential to earn up to $50 per 'Event' day during summer.

Data collected from your meter will help us calculate your baseline and measure the energy you are using during the program.
