CoolSaver Program

Earn cash while you save energy

As a socially responsible business, Endeavour Energy works with local communities to develop programs that help our customers use electricity more effectively and efficiently.

One of the major challenges we face is meeting the ‘peak demand’ for electricity on particularly hot afternoons, when a large number of Western Sydney households and businesses use high energy appliances such as air conditioners at the same time.

Why is peak demand an issue for Endeavour Energy and the community?

Peak demand occurs on just a few days a year, meaning the extra infrastructure required to meet it remains un-used the rest of the time. So we believe that rather than building and maintaining the electricity network to accommodate infrequent peak demand, a more sustainable approach is to seek ways to reduce demand during peak periods.

Endeavour Energy has developed a number of programs designed to support this approach, reducing our environmental impact and making better use of public resources. One of these programs is called CoolSaver.

What is the CoolSaver program?

CoolSaver is a new program that will help trim the energy your air conditioner uses during peak periods - which will trim your bills too - and we’ll pay you $60 for taking part each year for up to two years that you participate in the program.

You’ll also receive a free air conditioner service worth over $100 as a Sign Up Bonus.

How does CoolSaver work?

Your air conditioner will be fitted with a simple device installed by a qualified technician. Endeavour Energy will select ”Event” days during the summer period from 1 November to 31 March (excluding weekends and public holidays). Between peak times on these days (please refer to the FAQ for further information on peak times) when we expect a series of very hot temperatures, the device will automatically adjust the power supply to your air conditioner, lowering its consumption. You may notice some change in temperature.

It’s easy, it won’t cost you anything and you won't have to do a thing!

Who can join CoolSaver?

Residents in the following suburbs who have a suitable air conditioning system that can be retrofitted to accommodate the Australian Standard 4755.3.1 are invited to participate in the CoolSaver Program. (please click on the suburb that you live in to see if you live in the selected program area):

Currently, only certain air conditioner models in the market are suitable. A current list of suitable air conditioner models may be found via the link below.

The program is open to residential customers who live in owner occupied homes. Unfortunately, customers who live in rental accommodation are unable to participate in the CoolSaver program.
